National Service Scheme
Two units of National Service Scheme are functioning in the college. The scheme provides opportunities for the students to participate in the process of national reconstruction and individual character formation. Social, educational, cultural and health awareness programmes are organised as a part of its regular activities to promote the leadership qualities and organisational skills. Annual camps are also conducted with special project in rural areas. Members of NSS are awarded grace marks for admission to higher classes.

  Talk on “Communal Harmony” by Sri. Vijayakumar, Sastra Sahitya Parishad.
 

Painting and Pencil drawing competition for L.P and U.P school students of Mattanur Educational Sub district during wildlife week in association with Zoo outreach organization, Coimbatore.

Blood group detection and formation of blood donors forum in association with E.M.S Memorial Hospital, Mattanur.

 

Organized Legal Awareness Programme for II year students by KELSA.

 

Organized “Anti-drug rally” in connection with campaign against drugs.

Participated in “Vanamahotsavam” against by Kerala Forest Department and Planted tree samplings in the campus.

NCC
The NCC army wing unit of this College is functioning under the 31 Kerala Branch NCC, Kannur. The aim of NCC is to mould good citizens for the service of the nation. The unity has strength of 160 cadets comprising 106 boys and 54 girls. NCC training is 2 to 3 years during which time cadets are expossed to military training as well as leadership development programmes. Each cadet will have to earn 75% of attendance in the NCC activities for appearing for "B" and "C" certificate examinations. Trained cadets are eligible for bonus marks for higher education and reservations for jobs.
